The Years of Rice and Salt
A little uneven, but overall worth reading.
I’m a sucker for alternate histories, and was surprised to see more time devoted to interpersonal (and intrapersonal, as the main characters are continually reincarnated throughout the book) relationships than on actual world events. I found some sections to be real page-turners while others were snoozy, but I doubt much would be missed if one skipped through the boring sections.
I liked the last sentence.
