Elantris (Elantris, #1)

Obviously one of Mr. Sanderson's earlier works - the plot arc was not as smooth as I've come to expect, and I didn't quite feel the same involvement with the characters as I'm used to (although the two principals were likable). Oh, and there were a fair number of typos.
Still, an interesting story set in a world that shows some potential. I'm keen to read [b:The Emperor's Soul|13578175|The Emperor's Soul|Brandon Sanderson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1343059311s/13578175.jpg|19161502], to see what he can do with the world now that he's sharpened his skills.
