The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail—But Some Don't

An enjoyable, if not life-changing read. I enjoyed the early chapters especially, gobbling them up quite quickly. I tend to enjoy probability-oriented books, and liked the bits with the math (although I wasn't wild about how he explained Bayes' Theorem - I'm all about the P(A|B)s, and found the xes and yes or whatever he used (I've already forgotten) did not help).
I appreciated how Silver addressed the challenges in making predictions in wildly diverse areas - baseball, poker, sports betting, weather, earthquake, terrorism. I found that kept the book a little fresh, and definitely opened my eyes in a few areas. Read it, if you're interested in the future.
