Lock In (Lock In, #1)

Very enjoyable. While the characters weren't developed very strongly, they were largely sympathetic and their motivations clear. Scalzi introduced us to an interesting world, and in the process did the thing I most often enjoy in science fiction: changed one thing about our world and followed the consequences.

It's the "mystery" that held this book back. Everything came too easily to our heroes. In particular, Chris's vast wealth and replaceable array of bodies really ratcheted the tension down a few notches. If there'd been a little more struggle, I think we would've had a 5-starrer on our hands.
