How We Got to Now: Six Innovations That Made the Modern World

Diverting, but not life-changing. Johnson has a nice, easy-to-read style, and the little anecdotes were educational. At times I think that he stretched a little to connect each innovation with its "hummingbird effect", or ultimate consequences.
The book suffered, in my mind, from being 6 such very distinct parts. There was no thesis that was built to, more a premise that played out over and over, so I got a little bored toward the end.
