The Whites

A gritty police procedural/mystery/thriller, although the latter two aspects were weakened by the perpetrator of the mystery being pretty obvious from the beginning and the terrorizer of Billy's family is outright revealed.
Some likeable characters, some not so much, but everyone felt like people, and that's what kept me going. That, and Brandt's obvious familiarity with the workings of a big police department. I enjoyed Brandt's style, too.
