The View from the Cheap Seats: Selected Nonfiction
Generally good, although paradoxically will probably be of most interest to people who like Neil Gaiman but are not fans. Hear me out.
- If you don't like Mr. Gaiman's writing, you probably won't like this. Because he wrote it.
- If you do like Mr. Gaiman's writing, but don't follow him obsessively, you'll probably like the stories, and they will be fresh.
- If you're a fan, you'll like the writing, but will have heard many of these before.
So, each little bit was generally enjoyable (although sometimes when he wrote about writers or musicians that I had no experience with, I did get a bit bored).
The main quibble I have with the book is that a number of essays overlap in theme or topic, so the book seems repetitive. Perhaps best not read in one go.
