A very intriguing premise, and I enjoyed the two alternating POVs that we had in the beginning.
I lost a little interest/belief when we started glossing over some details (and I think the book was way too optimistic, given the initial problem our heroes has to overcome). But still, I was having a good time. Then 2/3 of the way through, we… got another book. A whole 'nother set of characters, whom I ended up starting to like a little, but it wasn't really the same. I think the book didn't recover from the break. And, IMO the ways the new characters interacted wasn't that realistic.
So... squandered promise.
