Entertaining, and a fast read. I generally enjoyed following Albus and Scorpius around (especially Scorpius!), and I appreciated the opportunity to explore the father/son dynamic.
However, there really wasn't enough story to support the number of pages, and the plays suffered in the same way that most young people's fiction does: unconvincing adults, many of whom acted worse than children. This last point was nowhere more in evidence than with Ron Weasley, who seemed to regress rather than mature and became no more than a joke
