More or less a delight from start to finish. Sympathetic interesting protagonists, a juicy love story, dashing heroes, and reprehensible villains. I loved the spells that were the chapter epigraphs: they look to have been chosen or constructed with great care and imagination. The parentheticals regarding Beatrice and Cleo killed.
