Hummingbird Salamander

Started out a little confusing, then hit a high point with some cool hummingbird facts and then a downward slide while Jane quickly adopted a cult-like devotion to dead whatshername, and threw away her whole life. Which meant that the author threw away anything keeping the story remotely interesting a little past the halfway point. I slogged through until about 3/4 through and couldn't go any further.
