The Mountain in the Sea
There was an interesting story here. But also 2 other stories. I nearly gave the book up at the beginning (it's lucky nothing else was available at the library) due to the overly flowery language and baffling concepts (a highly-educated woman in the future who has great difficulty comprehending that an android might not be a "he" or a "she", but who trips up not at all over calling a human vice president "they", a translator box that translates poorly because it's "battered"). For my money, you could probably read Ha's sections only, without loss of comprehension.
